the chocolate monster

johnathan definitely takes after his mom when it comes to chocolate. he likes chocolate just as much, if not more, than me. i guess i taught him well. today johnathan and i both wanted something chocolate, but all we had was a brownie mix, so of course we had to make brownies. we had the best time cooking the brownies together. but, if you like chocolate as much as we do, you know our favorite part was licking the bowl. however, johnathan has not learned the importance of being the bowl licker, until today. i let him lick the bowl and he got way in to it as you can tell from the picture. you can see the rest of the pictures i took of him on our picture website
skinklefamily.shutterfly.com. im sure that now everytime i have to cook brownies he will be more than happy to help.

Our New Pet

It seems like every family these days has a pet. We were kind of feeling left out, but then God blessed us with one. Yes, that it is right we have a puppy now. Now those of you who know where we lived, might be asking....how is that possible?? You can't have puppies in student housing. Well we do. In fact we have had a puppy now for almost 3 years and did not even know it until last week. Yes, the puppy God gave us has been hiding in the body of our 2 year old, Johnathan. That is right, we no longer have a little boy, we have a puppy. Last week while we were out eating supper the puppy decided he could not hide any longer. Our 2 year began to crawl out of the resturant on all fours. When Lee went to pick him up he simply said, "No Daddy I a puppy." It suddenly all made sense to us. Of course it was okay for him to crawl out of the resturant on all fours, because obviously he was not a little boy he was a puppy. I mean how could we have been so blind?? So, once we got outside we put him back on the ground and he crawled on all fours all the way to car, panting like all good puppies do. We rarely see our little boy anymore. In fact, he doesn't even answer us when we call him. However, if we remember, he will respsond when we call him "Puppy". Of course the puppy nevers tells us when he has decided to come out or when he has decided to hide again and he usually decides we are in a hurry and really need for Johnathan to do something. It makes life very interesting trying to figur out wether call for "Puppy" of for Johnathan. Needless to say we love our new puppy and are so happy we have found away around the no pets rule our housing office has. So, if you ever live somewhere that will not allow you to have a pet...just adopt a 2 year old, eventually the pet (or animal) inside of them will come out of hiding.
